Event Operations Coordinator - Calgary

(contract position 6 – 9 months)

Responsibilities:

  • Planning, logistics and implementation of Canadian Outback Events
  • On site coordination, preparing and hosting of events
  • Budgeting and expense management
  • Liaison with suppliers and clients
  • Supervise and evaluate staff
  • Organization and maintenance of event equipment and supplies

The qualified applicant will possess:

  • Ability to be an effective team member
  • Exceptional communication skills and public speaking experience (mandatory)
  • The ability to work from home
  • A vehicle along with a Valid Class 5 drivers license
  • Extensive knowledge of Calgary, Banff, Edmonton, Jasper
  • An out-going people oriented personality
  • Extraordinary attention to detail
  • Problem solving skills
  • Previous event/program planning experience
  • Flexible lifestyle and schedule and the ability to travel for work
  • Past supervisory or managerial experience
  • Team building experience
  • Computer skills in all Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Publisher)
  • Fluent written and spoken skills of a second language (French)

Start Date: training March 1st, 2010 with position starting by March 15th, 2010

Responsibilities & Duties:

As a Sales Coordinator you will:

  • Work closely with COA sales team to assist in the development of corporate and other sales leads
  • Work closely with COA sales team to assist in the development of proposals for corporate and other sales leads
  • Work closely with clients, the COA sales team and COA Operations team to ensure the detail oriented coordination of client events and other adventures
  • Process data for the COA accounting system
  • Make and take reservations for various COA events and adventures
  • Coordinate tradeshows and FAM events, under the supervision of the Marketing Manager
  • Maintain and produce COA sales kits
  • Do other duties as required
