A high-tech GPS team building treasure hunt!

[for Frequently Asked Questions please click the FAQ > button below]

Geocaching involves teams competing in a high-tech treasure hunt. Teams are given GPS units that are pre-programmed with vital coordinates of each target, called caches. Utilizing the GPS units and team skills, each team collaborates to find these caches, often taking the form of hidden boxes or team challenges.

Each cache can vary from the simple to the complex. From finding a critical piece of a puzzle to climbing over a 12-foot wall, or even using an interesting mode of transport to access a remote place where the cache is hidden.

For each challenge, the team must design a plan, execute it, and reach the final goal without a pre-designated leader. With the aid of the Canadian Outback Hosts, this becomes an amazing opportunity to observe team behavior and to discover what your team needs most to function at the next level. This experiential learning program will also highlight interesting parts of Vancouver and is a lot of fun!

"The real winner in this team-building exercise was camaraderie...is was a way to build a closer working relationship among the participants, and in this it was very successful!"

At Canadian Outback we are able to provide facilitated events that address specific challenges or issues you are experiencing in your workplace. Recognizing that our event may only be one element of a bigger workshop, our facilitators work with you to help maximize your return from the workshops by ensuring the activity is aligned and integrated to achieve your desired outcomes.

Our events not only lend themselves perfectly to professional facilitation, they will also capture the imagination and attention of your staff (who no doubt feel they have “seen it all” when it comes to professional training). These events are modified to maximize the impact our facilitator and the challenges will have with your group.

Why do progressive companies utilize our corporate training programs?

  1. We offer unique training programs planned and executed with extraordinary attention to detail.
  2. We are a well-established company. We are successful and growing because of our unique experiential approach to training.
  3. Experiential learning is applicable, not theoretical, training.
  4. Research indicates that Experiential Learning combined with debriefing is much more effective at learning retention and making a difference tomorrow.
  5. We use challenges & experienced facilitators to hit on concepts your team will be able to apply tomorrow.
  6. We offer solutions. People in your team who had a problem yesterday will learn something today that will make a difference tomorrow!

“The whole day was great, the various challenges were exciting, engaging, got everyone motivated, and even allowed us to lose our inhibitions. The benefits of the facilitated activities were being able to reconnect as a team and gain an appreciation for each other's work loads, fears, concerns, etc. I definitely would consider using Canadian Outback Adventures again for future events and training.”

Our definition of success is when teams have clarity of direction, focus on their critical issues, and place rigorous attention to the execution of plans they create and own.
