“The most enjoyable aspect of the Apprentice program was witnessing the energy evolution that took place in the room. Our group really got into the task at hand and started thinking outside of the box and working as a team to achieve a common goal. A lot of our members have been in business for many years and doing things “their way”; so the challenge of having to work with and take advice from others may have seemed difficult at first but evolved into a positive and fun experience; this surprised many of them! I feel The Apprentice was well worth the money and I would (and will) recommend Canadian Outback Adventures in the future. Thanks to the entire Canadian Outback Team for a well produced and very entertaining program!”

Culinary team building with a dash of Southern BBQ!

[for Frequently Asked Questions please click the FAQ > button below]

The time has come to once again answer life’s most savoury question: whose BBQ cuisine reigns supreme?! Our Iron Chef BBQ Challenge combines authentic “Southern Charcoal BBQ” with the Iron Chef television show as a new way for groups to challenge their culinary skills and work together as a team.

This unique team event is intended to recreate such themes as creative thinking, communication and team interaction all while learning skills they can use when hosting their own future BBQ.

"We had such a great time participating in the Iron Chef, it was so well organized and your staff were very professional and loads of fun. You have a great thing going and we would like to look into another one for next year.”

BBQ Cooking Meets Team Building!

The group is divided into teams. All team members are then briefed on the objectives for the cookoff by “The Chairman” and outfitted with all the gear they’ll need to ensure their culinary success. All herbs, spices, basic condiments, along with our secret ingredient of the day, will be provided. In addition to the miscellaneous cooking supplies and pantry items, the outdoor kitchen stadium consists of one Weber charcoal grill and one gas stove for each team.

Teams will encounter several challenges that will provide them with the opportunity to communicate with one another to make creative dishes, learn to work as a team rather than individuals, and compete head-to-head with other teams.

Glorious culinary masterpieces must be prepared including a sumptuous starter, delicious entrée including one or more tantalizing vegetable dishes, an enticing beverage, and a delectable dessert. This tantalizing feast must be presented on time to our judging table where we will score your creation. Do not worry … you will also have the opportunity to sample your work.

The teams will be judged according to taste, presentation, and originality. All points will be tallied to find out who rules Outdoor Kitchen Stadium as the reigning Outback Iron Chef!

“What I liked most about the event was that it was really interesting to see how people were challenged to step up to the plate and take on more active roles than they may be used to in a professional setting. On the flip side, the same goes for how our upper managers had to take a more backseat role (and some were happy to relax into this) and let others take control. It forced us to step out of our comfort zone and that was good because it helped us grow as a team!"
